Get away to Sedona

While Emmie is away visiting everyone in St. Louis Chris and I desided to drive up to Sedona to do a little hiking. We got into Sedona on Friday and started out with what we thought would be a easy hike to Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock. As we walked a lot of the trails crossed each other we got a little off the our first trail. So what should of been a 2.5 hike turned into a 5.5 mile hike. The rest of the night was done for due to myself getting altitude sickness. Next day we were off early to find Devils Bridge. The road up to the trail head was tough but we had to stop and pull the Hamster over and walk the rest of the way to the trail head about a mile. We did some steep clumbing but boy was it worth it. After our amazing hike we looked at some of the cool houses that are in the area, had lunch and went for a dip in the pool. I did make Chris do a little shopping but he did not mind because he got his new hiking shoes. Just like giving a little kid candy he was happy. That night we got to go on a sunset jeep ride not bad! Next day we wanted to see one more thing before we headed back home. We stopped to see Montezumas Castel. These are ruins built right into the walls of clifts. AMAZING!

Sorry I have not blogged in a while but it has been just a little crazy. School ended for just a short while for Emmie. So she has been in St. Louis visiting family and friends. I know she is been having a great time with everyone. Chris and I miss her so much. She has never been away from us this long. I am excited that I will see her soon. While she has been away Chris and I have been busy house hunting. I use to love looking at houses but now not so much. So you all know what is going on, Chris might be getting a better job with a different Insurance company in North Phoniex. Where we live now that would be at least a 45min. drive. Not good, so we have been looking for a house some place in the middle of his job and mine. And that would be Scottsdale. Now that we have lived in Chandle for seven months I really like the area and kinda don't want to move. But I don't want Chris to have to drive that far back and forth to work. So the house hunting is still going on till Nov. when our apartment lease is up.

After dinner party

We all had to work off the BBQ so we walked the mall. Emmie posed for one picture. The next day Nana had to go back to St. Louis. The next day was spent at Softball practice, then swimming at Bull's house with all the kids. I am the one working on all the fun days but once I got home this is what I walked into. See for yourself. It's hard beening a kid!!! (this picture shows two kids)

Emmie's birthday dinner with Nana & Paw Paw

So we all wanted to go out for dinner for Emmie's birthday. We let her pick the place. At first we all were a little worried that we might be at McDonalds. But she really wanted to go to Famous Dave's BBQ! We were all very happy! For Chris and I it reminds us a little of St. Louis because of the St. Louis style BBQ ribs. After dinner they brought Emmie a birthday treat and it was way cool. We also got a visit from Wilbur. I am surprised she is not afraid of him. But she did tell him that her favorite food is "Bacon" and Wilbur ran from the table. LOL

Hiking March 18th,2011

So Cathy and John have been visiting us and we have been keeping them busy with lots of things to do. To bad we have such bad weather here!! Family joke about the weather it is always nice here with the sun shining. So on Friday we went to the Flee Market and then had this great picnic lunch. Then is was off to hike the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The sky was so blue and the weather was great. Such a great day to hike, if you have the chance to go it is a must see.

Our first day in the blog world.

I know this is long awaited for family and friend. You all have been asking for the blog and now here we go. Hope I will be able to keep up with this. With us moving it has been hard to keep up with keeping everyone informed on what is going on so I hope this will keep everyone in the loop. So keep checking in for all my updates and pictures.
